PURPOSE: to foster a vibrant community through the arts that communicates a  uniqueness of place and enriches people's lives.

PHILOSOPHY: we believe -the arts should be available to everyone -the arts are not frivolous; they are essential to the human creative spirit and as such, need to be nurtured -the arts contribute to the economic well-being and aesthetic enhancement of the community.

MISSION: the mission of the arts council is to provide the communities of ottawa county support in fostering a cooperative effort between artists and the public to promotes the creative arts in our region.

VISION: to become an arts organization that encompasses all art forms and multiple communities, creating a pre-eminent region for the arts. -be a leader of coordination, information and collaboration related to the arts in this area. -establish a financially self-sustaining arts organization with paid staff and a facility with space for educational activities. -promote the exhibition of and education in the creative arts. -attract and provide support to artists through workspace, entrepreneurial education, grants, artists in residency programs and showcasing their work. -promote and support public art in all area communities -collaborate with governmental entities to establish community outdoor amphitheaters and coordinate on-going programming.

STRATEGIES: Information - on arts related events, artists, grants, etc. Education- for artists, the public and students. Coordination- of services & events. Collaboration- with other arts-related or arts-friendly organizations, businesses & governmental entities.  Promotion - of artists work and events.  Fundraising- membership, sponsorship, donations, grants, gifts in kind, events, etc. Recruiting/ Attracting- board members, volunteers, artists, donors. Providing Space- for studios, education, exhibits, performances, etc.
